# Forge workshop prop atlas

`packages/web/public/forge-art/workshop-props.webp` is the first runtime prop
atlas for the clay workshop interface. `WorkshopProp` crops its four cells into
page-owned scenes without shipping separate copies:

| Cell | Product meaning | First use |
| --- | --- | --- |
| upper left | twin-drum workflow engine | Actions |
| upper right | repair anvil and issue token | Issues |
| lower left | forged merge clasp | Pull requests |
| lower right | deployment rune gate | Sites |

The source render was generated as one evenly spaced 2-by-2 studio sheet. The
prompt required handcrafted isometric clay, chunky silhouettes, consistent
three-quarter lighting, the Forge navy/terracotta/parchment/moss/brass palette,
and no characters, letters, logos, UI, borders, or thin neon line art.

The runtime export is WebP and stays below 200 KiB. The atlas intentionally
contains props only: character skins remain independently layered and
replaceable.

Future prop sheets should preserve the same cell geometry and material palette.
Useful next objects are a hinged exact-commit codex for Wiki, a raven-scroll for
Transcripts, and a calibration bench for Settings.

## Social-card background plates

The social-card renderer owns all words, repository or Gist data, and the
canonical Thunder Smith character. Raster artwork supplies only the environment:

| Plate | Runtime use | Protected content area |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `forge-top-level.v2.jpg` | Default Forge and top-level page cards | Blank parchment on the left |
| `gist-workbench.v1.jpg` | Dynamic Gist cards | Blank clipped parchment across the workbench |
| `devblog-field-notes.v1.jpg` | Dynamic blog-post cards | Blank leather-backed parchment folio on the left and center |

None of the plates may contain generated typography, logos, characters, code, or
metadata. Keeping those layers separate makes copy crisp, keeps Gist facts
current, and lets the official character package remain the identity source of
truth. New versions should remain exactly 1200 by 630 pixels and preserve the
existing safe areas before the renderer positions are changed.

## Repository chest

`packages/web/public/forge-art/repository-chest.webp` is a focused runtime crop
of the open rune chest with two repository tiles from
`thunder-smith-kit/official/smolforge-prop-board.webp`. The Code page uses it as
one restrained, decorative workbench signature. It is not an action icon and
does not replace crisp file, branch, or clone controls.

## Route companion bench

`packages/web/public/forge-art/scenes/repo-bench.v1.webp` is the wide-screen
orientation plate for the route-persistent workshop companion. It appears only
in the true desktop gutter at 1800px or wider and only on the repository root.
Repository tabs retain the same companion character and route-appropriate
action without repeatedly loading or showing the bench plate. Public,
profile, and repository-settings surfaces do not render the companion.

## Character skin fitting

`packages/web/public/forge-art/scenes/skin-fitting-bench.v1.webp` supports the
browser-local character picker in Settings. Custom packages are validated
before preview: one bounded manifest, bounded PNG or WebP assets, safe relative
paths, the canonical 192-by-208 frame contract, required action families, and
exact sprite-strip dimensions.

Custom art is held in object URLs for the current browser session only. It is
not uploaded or synced, and refreshing restores the official Thunder Smith
skin. The “hide workshop companion” preference is stored per signed-in user
scope on the device.
