Gists#

Gists remain available during the verified SKIT and snippet-preservation cutover. Browse public Gists at /gists; public and unlisted Gist API routes retain their existing behavior until Forge has created and verified the required rollback snapshot.

Visibility and access#

• Public Gists appear in discovery and are readable by direct URL.
• Unlisted Gists are omitted from discovery but remain readable by anyone with the opaque URL.
• Only the owner can edit or delete a Gist.

Personal access tokens continue to use gist:read and gist:write. SKIT operations use the separate skit:read and skit:write scopes.

Deprecation boundary#

New skill-shaped content should be authored as a SKIT. Forge will remove the legacy Gist product only after every Gist revision and blob has been classified, copied, verified, and captured in the private rollback archive described by the SKIT migration plan. Until then, this compatibility surface is intentionally preserved.
