Snippet preservation#

Forge no longer exposes a Gist product. During the verified SKIT cutover, ordinary Markdown, prose, and code-snippet history is copied into the minimal content.snippet preservation sink.

• Public and unlisted records receive new typed snippet read URLs.
• Private records remain owner-readable.
• Owners can read and export exact revision history.
• There is no snippet editor, publishing workflow, collection surface, Site mount, or redirect from an old Gist URL.
• Unsupported records remain quarantined with explicit diagnostics.

The cutover cannot remove legacy storage until every record, revision, and blob has been accounted for, a complete private .programdb rollback snapshot has verified, and destination history has passed authorization-aware readback. The rollback snapshot expires automatically after 30 days.
